Bob Aagard is a seventh-generation Utahn. He graduated high school in Granite District, and his educational pursuits took him to Salt Lake Community College and the University of Utah, where he majored in History with a minor in Secondary Education. He volunteered with the I Can Read program at Hillsdale Elementary and worked as a Behavior Health Aide at West Kearns Elementary, as well as spending two years as a substitute teacher in Granite District. His career has taken him into the hospitality field, where he currently works in the finance department of a Salt Lake City hotel.
Bob has been involved in local politics for over a decade, getting involved in education and open government issues. His work earned him an Open Government Champion award from the nonpartisan Sunlight Foundation. He has fostered relationships with politicians and government officials from all political persuasions.
Bob enjoys spending time exploring the wonderful scenery here in Utah, and also dabbles in photography from time to time. An avid reader, he hopes to one day write a book of his own.
